Proxima
- Cofounder Alex Lake -
"This is it! let's change the world for the better! But first we need to locate what's wrong with the fashion industry and what we can do better." This sentence started the foundation of Proxima a company dedicated to consistent improvement to it impact on the planet. Below are the steps we have already taken to lessen our impact and to improve the lives of so many.
Proxima 0.0 - Locator
At Proxima all of our products are produced once you order them. This is significantly important because it means that we can significantly reduce the amount of clothing sitting waiting to be bought. This not only saves fabric but water, energy, and lowers CO2 produced from storing massive amounts of clothes.
No Product Left Behind
01 - Completed
We are proud to announce that we are starting out our sustainability journey running. With 27% of all our clothes are made with at least 80% recycled polyester. This not only reduces our impact on the planet in terms of plastic production, but recycled polyester takes 33-55% less energy to produce than new polyester.
Foundations of Recycling

From the very beginning we knew that if we wanted to have low impact higher quality clothing, we would need the newest most advanced technology. From shiny new fabric dyers to laser guided fabric cutters; these help us reduce our impact on the environment. From energy to raw resource consumption and even employee safety technology is the way to a better future for all.
Hightech Production
03 - Complete
At Proxima we work tirelessly to make sure our products are reviewed and certified by 3rd parties. This is important because it holds us accountable. In that light we are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Certified meaning our dyes and base raw materials for our fabric are proven safe and non-toxic through rigorous 3rd party testing.

Rain is the cycle that replenishes the earth.
- Cloudloft Sports Bra -
At Proxima we envision a zero impact cycle, one where we give back just as much as we take; just like the cycle that replenishes the earth; rain. We are hard at work to mimic these ancient traditions of nature through giving rather than taking. It's time to revert back to the same timeworn cycles where we all have come from.
Proxima 0.1 - Cycle
To start this self-revitalizing cycle, we realized that clothing can never by itself give back. So, we decided to give back what our clothing takes; by strategically donating 10% of our profits, we have been able to donate to organizations dedicated rebuilding communities, ecosystems, and lives. We have always dreamed of being a positive impact on the world and now we finally can; we hope you'll join us for this journey.
Dontions

We are on track to be carbon neutral by 2025! By using 3rd party emissions reviews and reducing our impact by donating to CO2 offset programs. Carbon offsetting programs counteract/eliminate carbon emissions by a variety of methods from planting trees to using carbon capturing facilities. We cannot wait to be able to reach such an impressive milestone, but we can't do it without you!
Carbon Neutral
02 - In progress early 2025
Due to environmentally conscience decisions like "No Product Left Behind" we lack the size to be able to take on returned clothing. However, the viability of returns is directly linked to our growth, and we are closer than ever to being able to accept returns. Once returns are available, we will offer used/repaired clothing at discounted rates to our customers to reduce product waste. This helps clothes stay in the consumer cycle and provide comfort and care for years to come.
Returns
03 - In progress 2025
The best way to ensure that every product produced gives more than it takes. It is imperative that all aspects of our processes are known and streamlined. From our cotton to our shipping everything must be oriented towards sustainability. For instance, connecting and working with small scale family-owned cotton farmers that use smart farming practices (Crop Rotation, etc.). This level of management is above and beyond and is lacking in the fashion industry, and we want to be on the front line of sustainability.
Supply Chain Centralization
01 - Starting early 2026
We are a constant source of advancing innovation in the fashion industry. We are already on the way to having 100% of our polyester fibers coming from recycled plastic, and we are not stopping anytime soon. Not only do recyclable fibers use fewer base materials to produce they take 22% less energy to produce. This is the way of the future of apparel and with us, it is coming sooner rather than later.
100% Recyclable Fibers
02 - Starting early 2025
We are no strangers to the inaccessibility that the cost of something can have on someone's ability to give back to the planet. Understanding this we have pledged to keep our prices accessible; in line with our founders' goals. Accessibility will allow us to give so many more people the opportunity to give back to the planet while receiving a necessary good, clothing.
Costs
03 - Starting late 2025
Our ultimate goal is to establish a company that proves its commitment to giving back more than it receives. We understand that this is a challenging journey and we are only at the beginning of it. Nonetheless, we are enthusiastic about tackling the challenge of achieving net negativity. We are determined to push our limits and reach for the sky, as there are no limits to what we can accomplish.
Proxima 0.3 - Sky's the Limit
As you can infer from the insurmountable amount of evidence reaching zero or negative emissions is imperative for the long-term health of our planet. By 2027 we want to be net negative by using CO2 offsetting methods like tree planting. From there we will work towards reducing our emissions from our manufacturing processes until we reach true net zero.
Net Negative Emissions
01 - Starting late 2027
It may come as a surprise, but certain fibers, particularly those derived from plants, can actually have a carbon-negative production process. Hemp is one such incredible fiber. With proper handling, clothing made from hemp fibers can be carbon-negative, and we are fully equipped to make this happen.
CO2 Negitive Fibers
02 - Starting 2026
It is important to be accountable for our ongoing journey towards betterment. To achieve this, we will be dedicating a webpage on our website to showcase our progress visually. This will allow you to track our progress and see where we are in our journey.
**This may be implemented earlier than 2025 so stay tuned.**
